Happy Wednesday! It’s been awhile since my last What I Ate Wednesday post so I thought it was due time for another daily eats post!
This is an interesting day of eats. It’s from this past Saturday, which started and ended very relaxing but was very hectic for a large majority of the day. Nick accidentally messed with something in our plumbing that caused our entire kitchen floor and part of our living room and office to be flooded with 2 inches of water. Needless to say instead of going to the gym we got our workout by frantically mopping up the water in hopes of not ruining the floors! I also fell pretty hard when I ran in to see what had happened…so that was fun. After a few crazy hours we found ourselves on the couch laughing at the ridiculousness of home owning at times. Despite having to pay for a plumber to come out and having to clean up the huge mess, I still love home owning. It just comes with many life lessons 🙂
Now onto what I ate this day!
My stomach was in pain from something I ate the night before that didn’t agree with me, so I had a little bit of bone broth and a yogurt bowl for breakfast. The bowl was made with a few tablespoons of my own homemade yogurt, 1/2 of a Siggi’s yogurt, peanut butter, cacao nibs, cinnamon and a hefty drizzle of honey.
After this I went to the farmer’s market…and shortly after I got back is when our house flooded…so a few hours later I got pretty hungry and pretty tired. So I made a matcha latte, sipped this and unwinded from the events. And then made a quick lunch of a can of tuna mixed with a little bit of sardines + avocado mayo + mustard and ate it with organic blue corn chips. We didn’t have any groceries in the house and I wasn’t much in the mood for food, so I ended up not even finishing this. But because no lunch is complete without chocolate I made sure to get a big chunk of chocolate to enjoy 🙂
Later in the afternoon, I had a couple bites of some of the food and sips of the drinks I was taking pictures of to ensure the recipes were finalized.
And once I was done taking my pictures for the blog, I enjoyed a bath to relax and then sat down with a BIG glass of wine while I edited the pictures from my earlier photography session.
Lately I’ve been choosing organic wines to ensure no crazy chemicals (like pesticides, herbicides, etc) are going in my body while I heal it. I feel so fortunate that Natura Wines offered to send me some of their wine, and I happily agreed to try it! I received a red wine and rose and while I loved both I am a red wine girl at heart- so this was my favorite!
Natura wines are the #1 imported organically grown wine from Chile’s Central Valley. Their wines are certified organic and produced with 100% organically grown grapes.
I feel like I get less of a hangover from organic wines too, so that’s another plus 🙂
After enjoying wine I quickly made dinner for myself and Nick as I was HUNGRY. I heated up the leftover coconut lime rice I had made earlier in the day and topped it with guacamole and an accidental recipe test, sriracha brown sugar shrimp! I didn’t even mean to create a new recipe, but damn this was good! I HAVE to add it to the blog 🙂
I was still pretty hungry after dinner, so I enjoyed a Simple Mills chocolate cupcake with peanut butter and cacao nibs.
And as always, I finished the night off with turmeric milk. More on my nighttime routine coming to the blog on Friday!
Tell me: Do you drink wine? Red, white or rose?
